the project

scenario
The product MVP had been launched for a month, and the project had reached the 3-month mark. Although the team had already planned a backlog full of features, first there were frictions in the experience provided, which would need to be addressed first.

challenge
Increase site user traffic, and conversion rates for registration, especially customers, and sales. The project had a reduced development squad, with just a web developer, a Project Manager, a Tech lead, and myself as a product designer.

approach
Even with a reduced squad, we worked in an agile way on the product, seeking to solve any problem faced by our users. The license for the Hotjar platform was acquired to facilitate the monitoring of the product, allowing us to have a view of the user, including their clicks on the screen. Using the Scrum methodology, we worked in two-week sprints. And part of the job, as a squad designer, was to follow the development, pointing out inconsistencies and clearing up any doubts that might arise. Seeking to avoid rework, we established a weekly ceremony, called Design Review, where we reviewed the front-end with the developer.

result
After months of working as the sole designer on Tattooz’s product, I was able to participate in solving the experience frictions, designing features, and even creating a new administrative environment for the product. Working side by side with the web developer made it possible for me to learn about web applications, especially responsive design. Reaching the end of the project, the progress of the product is remarkable, as evidenced by the increase in user traffic.
