The opportunity

Offering discounts to attract user traffic and increase sales is one of the oldest tactics when it comes to digital products. In a tattoo marketplace, it would be no different. With the implementation of the administrative environment, the coupon feature became possible. And our stakeholders were excited about the potential marketing campaign this functionality would bring.

Business rules

Since this is a feature that involves the startup’s finances, business rules would be essential to keep the functionality simple, and avoid any financial loss. In alignment with the development team, we established the main business rules:

  • To apply the discount, the purchase must be made within the Tattoz platform, and reach the minimum total established when creating the coupon. Both values, the discount and the minimum purchase total, must be whole values, without cents. These values ​​cannot be changed after creating the coupon.
  • Coupons will be valid for a period of time, with start and end dates established when creating the coupon. The status will automatically change according to the scheduled dates, and these cannot be changed after creating the coupon.
  • Tattoo artists will be invited to participate via email contact. To participate, users must agree to the coupon’s rules and terms of use.

The solution

The first thing to think about would be the flows of the administrative environment, that is, the flows for creating and editing the coupon. In the first, the conditions for values ​​and dates would be established, which could not be edited. And in both, the main objective of our moderators is to control the participating profiles and the number of coupons used.

The profiles of tattoo artists or studios, who accepted to participate in the discount, would need to view this Feedback of their participation, on the platform. Thus, at home, the coupon component was designed to inform the coupon conditions. In the profile, the component applied is the same that will be seen by customers. Both components, when clicked, will open an informative modal with all the details of the promotion.

Customers

To generate impact, it would be necessary to present, clearly and urgently, the discount coupon to our customers. In the feed, our users should identify participating profiles or flash tattoos that are discounted. By accessing the image or profile, the user can view the discount coupon. The components are clickable, as it behaves for tattoo artists, opening an informative modal with all the discount conditions.
